In addition, the facility was recommended by 81 percent of former patients surveyed, according to Survey data.
The Kuakini Medical Center is also a non-profit facility, and although it received a lower Smart Rating score of 50, the hospital received a 8 out of 10 rating for care outcome. The Hawaii Medical Center East facility and the Kaiser Foundation Hospital also received Smart Rating scores of 50, but the Hawaii Medical Center received a 7.8 score for medical performance, and the Kaiser Foundation Hospital was recommended by 70% of its former patients.
Another of the top recommended Hawaii hospitals is also located in Honolulu, the Straub Clinic and Hospital. According to Survey data, the facility was recommended by 77% of patients surveyed and 74% of them awarded the hospital a 9 out of 10 score.
Wailuku: Healthcare Options
Wailuku is located on the north-west portion of the stunning island of Maui and close to the sacred and beautiful Iao Valley, which is one of Hawaii’s State Parks. In addition to its proximity to the valley and awe inspiring West Maui Mountains, Wailuku is home to Maui Memorial Medical Center.
The government run facility is one of the leading Hawaii hospitals in terms of care outcome, as it received a 8.1 score out of 10 from Thomson Reuters and U.S. News. The hospital only received a 6.1 score for patient experience, however, which is lower than the national average.
Kailua: Medical Care
Kailua is smaller city that is located on the windy coast of Kailua Bay on the island of Oʻahu. The community is just a short drive from Honolulu and is also where Marine Corps Base Hawaii is situated.
The Castle Medical Center is also located in Kailua, which is a non-profit, acute care hospital which received a solid 7.8 score for care outcome. According to patient reports, Castle Medical Center was recommended by 74% of its former patients that were surveyed.

Hilo is the largest city on the island of Hawaii and is located on the north-east part of the beautiful and emerald landmass by Hilo Bay.
